Hello and welcome to Bright Futures Children's Center. My name is Tomekia Burks Crews and it is an honor to direct a children's center guided not only to serve our community, but to also serve He who deserves all the glory, Jesus Christ. I was born in Eufaula, Alabama in 1978, but I grew up in Louisville, Alabama where I found my passion for working with young children. In high school, my goal was to one day own a children's center. In 1996 I began my journey with working with young children; I worked as an assistant director and teacher at a children's center in Clio, Alabama. After the years, I have worked in many childcare positions; such as, a Pre-K teacher, and Special needs teacher assistant, tutor for school children, and also private tutored in my home,  and supervised one of the largest childcare centers in Dothan, Alabama for nearly  five years.  Through my experiences I have gained the art of patience and I have learned that all children learn and grow in their own unique way. In 2001, I obtained my Associate Degree in Childhood Development from Enterprise State Community College in Enterprise, Alabama.  To reach my goal of owning and directing my own children's center I began collecting toys, puzzles, games, etc. in 2011. In the fall of 2016, I enrolled myself in Troy University to work towards my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education to which I am still working towards now. I am so thankful for the love and support I have gotten from my husband and 3 kids. I began working on the soon Bright Futures Children's Center in September of 2017.  My husband and kids soon helped me reach my goal on July 10th, 2018 when I received my license to operate Bright Futures Children's Center, LLC. I am so excited to share my goal with the community and pray here at Bright Futures we can "let our light shine"!
